La Ceruglia is a traditional and generous farmhouse, nestling in the soft and peaceful hills of the Tuscan-Umbrian border, an hour and half south east of Florence, just outside the beautiful hilltop town of Anghiari in the Upper Tiber Valley. The house, with its accompanying capanno, is comfortably equipped for 12-14 people, with a spacious garden and large swimming pool.
The house is just outside the charming medieval hilltop town of Anghiari, famous for its art and history and in the very heart of Piero Della Francesca country. Anghiari is an official 'Borgo più bello d'Italia', recognising it as one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy. The town has museums, local shops, banks, pharmacies, and excellent restaurants. It is a designated 'Citta Slow', recognised for its exceptional local cuisine and quality of life. A weekly market takes place on Wednesdays and it is a pleasant 20 minute walk from La Ceruglia.
The area is renowned for its local produce, wines, and traditional crafts. There are many festivals held in towns and villages great and small, celebrating everything from grapes and olives to mushrooms and the well-known Fiorentina beef steaks. Renaissance pageants, displays and religious ceremonies are frequent. There are also many national and international music festivals throughout the year.

Traditional wood-fired brick oven for pizza making and bread baking. We provide instructions and can arrange a pizza-making lesson.
Covered loggia with large dining table for outdoor meals. Barbecue available.
Well-stocked library, including children's books. Upright piano and guitar. Garden games, board games and puzzles for all ages. Yoga mats and exercise bike.
Mature gardens with lawns, olive trees, and shaded areas. Various seating areas to enjoy different views.
Ample parking, washing machine, dishwasher, and WiFi. Central heating.
John Milton wrote Paradise Lost but he also wrote Paradise Regained, which La Ceruglia certainly was for us.
We've just arrived back from our best holiday ever. From the moment that we first walked into La Ceruglia we fell completely in love with it. It's so clearly a house that has such a big soul.
